Potty Training!

So, don't know about you, but this is how potty training is going for me!:) I may just quit!:)

Wedding Fun!!

We went to a wedding this weekend in good ol' K-Town!! It was a lot of fun and the bride, though I didn't get any pics of her, was absolutely beautiful. It was the kids first wedding and they cut-up, now I understand it when people say "No Kids" in their invites:)

Five Obsessions!

Well, my beautiful and dear coworker sent me an amazing idea...to write the top 5 things I am the most OBSESSED with!!
1. I love, love, love to cook(lately) and get new recipes from anyplace!
2. When it's just me, Branson, and the kids; lounging, at the park, out to dinner or shopping:)
3. When I find money in the pocket of a pair of jeans or coat pocket that I haven't worn for a while!
4. Anything surrounding Christmas...the smells in the air, the hot cocoa, the long lines, the blessing of the sacrifice(Christ, that is, not a goat:)), and being with family.
5. Days at the Milk-and-Honey Spa which is super-duper FAB-O!!
Now it's your turn...

Brooklyn's Obsessions:
1. All things edible...
2. Anything that can be mouthed...
3. MILK>>>>MILK>>>>MILK!!
4. Pulling beautifully designed and placed hairbands out of her hair...
5. Giving people a good slap, especially when they are asleep!!

Branson's Obsessions:
1. Taking challenges like jumping off of couches, ottomans, or any height he can mount only to leap off!!
2. Disciplining Brooklyn "No, no Bookie" (finger point and all)
3. Eating french fries and biscuits for breakfast, lunch and dinner (if he were allowed)
4. Watching his ABC's on the "t.b."
5. Dumping and filling...finding hiding places!!

Branson's Newest Phrases!

I don't want it!--- sounds like "I no wan-i"
I want pizza!--- sounds like "I wan peza"
I want juice!--- sounds like "I wan juc"

As you can see, none of these are requests they are all demands. So, we have been working very hard on saying please without being told! In addition to these lovely antics he is starting to get pouty...he will hang his head low and roll his shoulders forward so his hands are well positioned right below the knee. Just enough fuss to let you know how sad he is, but not enough to get in trouble!:) Reading all of these nonverbal cues are the hardest thing ever, I just think if I were a SAHM I could know all the comings and goings...The guilt is starting to mount:( This is hard work.:)

Big Branson's Birthday!!

Well, it was Big Branson's (my hubby) birthday yesterday and we had a really fun time...we ate cake, opened presents, made pizza and watched The Hulk...on a side note the hulk is a scary movie for young one's...I learned this the hard way after thinking since he liked Ironman and Transformers he would love it---not so!!

A Day in the Life!!

He takes chances at some photo opportunities!

I force my children, big and small, to give their mommy lots of sweet kisses!!

I actually got both of these rascals to look at the camera, this is before we left for daycare....therefore my son's opinions were silent!!

This is how I roll to my Gi-Gi and Paw-Paw's house in Killeen...you have something to say about it?:)

This girl will climb absolutely anywhere...even over the legs of a barstool!!!:)

I love these St. Jude's stuffed animals...I buy one ever year to benefit the cause from Kay's Jeweler's...I think this stuffed dog is his personal favorite!

Brooklyn was ready to play Call of Duty 4...but her daddy thought that might be too violent for a wee little baby doll!:)

She was looking very intently at this rock...before she had the ability to really use those pincers!

What a cutie patootie!!:)

Fall Fun...

We had a Fall Festival in our Housing Area so the Juice Man got to ride a horse, a train, get his face painted and meet firemen!! It was fun, he was taking it all in:)

Things I love About the Kids.....

I love the way Branson:
1. Get's home and waits for the school bus to pass by.
2. Heads to the mailbox the second we get out of our car.
3. Sings "ding-dong" uncontrollably as he presses our doorbell.
4. The way he smiles first thing in the morning.
5. The way he loves to read books before bed.
6. How he shows off his teeth after they have been brushed.
7. When he kisses his sister so much she falls to the ground.
8. The way he holds hands with her in the back of the car and makes her laugh.
9. When he says "No, No Bookie" when she is doing something she shouldn't (and of course minutes later he is copying that activity:))
10. The way he says "Peese Mony"...please mommy:)

I love the way Brooklyn:
1. Will wake up at two a.m. crying hysterically, but as soon as she sees you the tears fade and a smile appears.
2. When she looks in my eyes and touches my face.
3. When I pick her up afterschool and she jumps out of whosever arms she is in to get to me.
4. Crawls from room to room following me.
5. When I hear her hands patting her way down the tiled hallway.
6. The way she is always happy, even when she is hungry....she does a smile-cry.
7. She is in constant motion and wears herself out for bed before you even think about it.
8. When she pats furiously on the ottoman in excitement.
9. When she climbs up my leg and pulls on me so I can lift her into my lap.
10. The way she curls up in a ball and falls asleep in only my arms...because her Mommy is holding her;)

Pray or Get out of the Way!!

I am a usually rather neutral and a non-political personality...Yet, I felt moved and compelled to write this after getting much propoganda about our nation going to hell in a hand-basket after Barack Obama was chosen as the 44th president of the United States. If I get another email about Barack getting ready to blow up the country I am going to puke! I am writing this not meant to offend, but to inform:

I am so sick of bitter people...people who have down right ignored the power of the presidency and the impact this election has had on our great nation.

It is a shame that fellow people of color would have the nerve to down him and pull scripture out and lay it down as if God isn't in control! Where is your faith? Wasn't your basis for wanting McCain/Palin morals, values, and good ol' conservative living? Now it's "America is being led to destruction" rather than say "Let's pray for the president-elect"!

Let's be realistic...in late January Barack Obama will be in power, he spanked McCain and won fair and square. Be happy for the man! This is one of the most amazing times in our history, I am actually going to be able to celebrate Black History month a new way with my Kinder students this year because we are actually living black history! It's not because I am black, it's because I am a human and a story like his should appeal to our conscious.

This is what Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. meant, this was his dream! I am so excited that we got to see the day that the message Dr. King spoke of has actually come to pass. Yes! This is America, a place where we all can become whatever we want... Isn't this what we want to believe? Isn't this the point of democracy?

The Civil Rights movement has not only changed the faces of teachers in classrooms, African American enrollment in higher education, demolished segregation and influenced numerous changes in policy.....We have a President and he is BLACK!! I pray for our Pres-elect that he would lead our country and be lead by the holy spirit in his decision making as we go through this time in our history. I also pray for those HATERS who can't accept that democracy is alive and as long as we live I pray that fact never changes. So, forget what you heard......Barack is coming to D.C.
So, either PRAY or get out of the WAY!!

Ending October and Brooklyn at 7 months!

My little bitty Bumble Bee on our way to a local church for Trunk-or-Treat!!

Branson III knocked out after getting tons of candy!

Branson with his lollipop, he was the most tired dog I have ever seen, my poor guy!

A half-hearted smile, he was on his way to sleep before we even made it to the church:( This made it very difficult to get any pictures of him really smiling.

Brooklyn was admiring the pumpkin....

At least someone was looking at the camera!

His solo pic.......looking at all the other pumpkins!

Branson and Brooklyn playing with a great pumpkin!

Brooklyn smiling big and her beautiful white linen!

Juice is rocking out on his mommy's IPOD!

She is always on the move..

Brooklyn and her daddy watching the too-big TV in our living room....

Another bumblebee picture....

Brooklyn and Branson fresh out of the shower!
